Northern Homecraft was started in April of 2011 and became a Ltd. Corporation in 2012. Our company was developed to be a business that promotes values important to our families. The business model is based on quality work, respect and accountability. Northern Homecraft Ltd. continues to grow and strives to maintain our high standards of operation. We are geeks for building homes and love to continue educating ourselves about building science and quality/longevity by attending seminars, frequenting home shows and reading up on different ways to improve our craft. This has allowed us to add building energy efficient homes to our repertoire.
We are a fully licensed and insured business that is registered with BC Housing. This provides our clients with a full 2/5/10 year warranty. Please ask us what this entails or check it out online through BC Housing.
Northern Homecraft Ltd. was recently honoured to accept the 2019 Georgie Award for Best Certified Home - Custom! Along with having won the 2018 Northern BC Housing Awards of Excellence for Best Certified Home - Custom and Best Custom Home Valued $1,000,000+. "...I contacted Northern Homecraft with the request to build a net-zero house. I had very specific ideas about how my house should be. I can honestly say, the outcome is better than what I had expected. The quality is fantastic. As an example, things that are supposed to be straight are really straight. My basement is a gem and my curbless shower is a delight every time I use it. In general, Northern Homecraft has just a high standard of quality. I am very happy with my new house and can definitely recommend Northern Homecraft for the construction of a high performance house."
"I've had the pleasure of collaborating with Shay and the team over at Northern Homecraft for the past two years and can say without a doubt that they are the first builder I would recommend for any custom home or Net Zero project in Prince George and Northern BC. Their ability to expertly organize, communicate, and manage complex projects stems from their fantastic leadership, clear company process, and seasoned project managers. They foster a collaborative process that brings together some of the best trades in the North, which I am proud to be a part of. Their client relations, as well as the transparency in pricing is a core reason why I continuously strive to involve them in as many projects as possible. They embody a level of care and craftsmanship that is rarely seen in our current construction environment, and simply make my job easy."

Shay also enjoys studying the Filipino martial arts and Jeet Kune Do. Having graduated Thompson Rivers' University in 2010, I've worked for a variety of companies doing all processes of construction. My position as site manager for Northern Homecraft provides me with lots of new challenges, my favourites being framing and tiling. I feel like I've enhanced my knowledge in the last couple years with new innovations to more efficient housing.
I'm married and have a 1.5-year-old daughter. Some of our favourite family activities include lazy Sunday breakfasts and cartoons. I also enjoy small wood crafting projects.
